Ann's History Pages

Welcome to my website.  This site is optimized for 800x600 resolution.  I'm a network engineer by trade and an avid civil war and WWII  buff in my spare time.  I maintain several web pages related to the civil war as well as World War II.  Relics from my ancestors who fought in the civil war, a General Longstreet Page, My father's WWII stuff, photos from my civil war reenacting as well as several battlefield tours.    I also have links to my reenactment groups, the 7th MD, USA and the 6th VA, CSA

For the little ones, check out my niece's web page, Rachel.  Its the civil war from their eyes and not much technical help from me.  Kids take to computers like ducks to water!

If you're wondering why  "Old Pete" has a page , well he's one of my favorites.  Plus a good buddy of mine, Dan Paterson, is his great-grandson.  Dan's in my round table and reenactment group.  If you're asking yourself how such a young guy (40 something, I'm 40 something as well!) could be a civil war general's great-grandson, its simple.  The general's youngest son, Fitz-Randolph Longstreet, was a windower who remarried a young window.   He went on to became a father a second time with Jamie (Dan's mother) when he was 63!

Anyway, check back often, I'm always tinkering with these pages.  I hope you enjoy them and learn a little in the process.   For the curious, the wallpaper is full of Generals I admire.  Buford, Cleburne, Jackson, Forrest, Lee, Longstreet and Grant.  Hey I'm an equal opportunity buff (reb and yank)!  Below is the 7th MD along with the 2nd MD CSA doing a joint volley at the Marietta Marching thru time event.  A sight that definitely didn't happen during the civil war, we'd be volleying each other that's for sure!
