James "Pink" Collins - 49th NC, Co. I, ANV - Civil War

I sent off a form NATF 80 to the National Archives.  Believe it or not they do have confederate records.  For a small fee of $10 and six weeks later I received the following.  James is referred to as "Pink" Collins in a regimental history on Co. I.  Its called "A True History of Company I, 49th Regiment, North Carolina Troops, in the Great Civil War" by W.A. Day.  Mr. Day was a veteran of Co. I, it was originally published in the 1890's.  "Pink" comes from James' middle name of Pinkey.  Below are the various records I got back from the archives.  Muster rolls, receipts for clothes, also references to his being wounded and captured at Five Forks.  He was sent to Point Lookout, MD.  When released he had to take the oath of allegiance.
